The Bottom Line

from the Editor:
Jason is a strong songwriter and better than that he is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. If you get the chance to see him perform live, you can feel his essence, one of integrity and niceness reaching out to you from the stage.

"If you need a dose of real good Country Music, Nashville’s newest up and coming sensation, Jason LeGrand, is the guy to watch. Jason adds a dash of Southern Rock blended in with just enough Traditional Twang to create a perfect sound. The stage presence and performance of this mellifluous performer offers an immediate visual gratification as well as an unmistakable distinctive sound that one won’t soon forget…Jason has all the makings of becoming the next country music legend."

Jason LeGrand first came to my attention because I found him as he was trying out for the 2004 season of the USA Network's Nashville Star reality series. Jason impressed the judges by winning the State championship (Ohio) and going on to the regionals along with Gary Pittman. Jason did not win the Nashville Star competition this year, but I was still intrigued and have been trying to keep tabs on  this rising Country Music Star since.

I did get the chance to hear Jason LeGrand play a few acoustic songs at the get together at the end of Fan Fair this year for the Country Music and Nashville Star message board. Jason LeGrand combines straight forward country with soul, and a hint of rock n' roll and blues thrown in which gives him his unique sound. The young wannabe also excited me with his songwriting skills at this event by singing a tune that could easily be added to Country Music Radio, Cuatro Cervesas is as good a country tune as you will hear, and that isn't a stretch of any sort! You can also hear You Must Know Everything by going to the music page of the Jason LeGrand website which showcases his more upbeat country-rockin' blues style.
